ZAHA HADID

Internationally celebrated as one of the most influential architects of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Zaha Hadid also established herself as one of the most original furniture designers of her generation. Rather than treating furniture as a separate discipline, she regarded each object as a continuation of her architectural language: fluid geometries, dramatic movement, complex curves and advanced engineering. Unlike many architects who simply adapted architectural motifs into furniture, Hadid approached every piece as a sculptural exploration of space. Her work frequently dissolves the traditional distinction between furniture, sculpture and architecture.
